Let's start 2021 off with another fabulous Scholarship recipient. Please congratulate Jaclyn Connor. She is the AZ Thespian recipient of the ABF Memorial Scholarship specializing in Musical Theater. Jaclyn, we are so excited for you. Thanks for sharing a bit about yourself. Welcome to the ABF Family and we look forward to watching you on stage!
"I am a Senior at Paradise Valley High School and have been an active member of Paradise Valley Theatre Company, Troupe #1146 for all of my highschool years. I am both an actor and a technician, portraying roles from Flounder in "The Little Mermaid" to Belinda Blair in "Noises Off" to Lillian Barron in our one-act competition piece "Do Not Go Gentle". I am applying to schools across the nation with the intent to double major in theatre and business, and to a couple schools for music business and production. Outside of theatre, I am a life long musician, playing guitar, piano, and bass guitar. Writing is my greatest academic pursuit, and I could see myself being a music or political journalist in the future. I also hope to one day be able to use my writing and my art to advocate for a more honest and just country, where my generation can address issues like systemic racism, climate change, and social justice for marginalized groups like the LGBTQ community." - Jaclyn Connor
